Hailing from Hawaiʻi, Kira Okamoto is a genderqueer Japanese-American illustrator and comic artist now living in the Pacific Northwest. They love using color, lighting, and camera angles to create cinematic moments in comic art. They have done work for comic publishers such as Image, IDW Publishing, and Skybound Entertainment. Their work has also appeared on broadcast television on the pro-wrestling program AEW. When creating and drawing stories, Kira pulls inspiration from their lifelong love of manga, photography, superhero comics, and the stranglehold post-punk revival music had on them as they came of age in the early aughts.

When they aren't drawing, Kira makes up songs about their two cats and yells enthusiastically about pro-wrestling (particularly lucha libre).
