Alison Acton

Alison Acton is a Canadian artist with a background in comics and traditional animation. She's worked for studios like Spumco, Pocket Gems, and Big Jump, and publishers like Harper Collins, Tokyopop, and First Second. She loves creating expressive characters, writing snarky dialogue, jiu-jitsu, and long dog walks away from her three boys who always want to be in the office and shed Lego EVERYWHERE. She writes and draws the webcomic Bearnuts and designs t-shirts for fun. She and her husband, comic colourist Jim Charalampidis, founded Studio Dooomcat as a fun site for all their irreverent non work art. She's currently designing characters and props for TVO's Wolf Joe and Netflix's Trailer Park Boys.

Kira Brown is a story artist based in Los Angeles California. She started her career in storytelling from her love of anime and manga. After years of being a caricature artist and visual developer, Kira's love of visual storytelling expanded her career to storyboarding for television. She's boarded on prime time shows such as Central Park and Bob's Burgers, and is expanding her medium into comic illustration. Growing up as an adopted kid and only black person in his family, identity was more of a struggle for him than he realized, but he found he was able to express this through the safe distance of storytelling. He grew up in Westchester, New York (home of the X-Men!) but sadly failed to develop any mutant powers. He studied Illustration and Cartooning at the School of Visual Arts in NYC, and after years of punk rock adventures in Brooklyn and Philly, relocated to the west coast where he received my MFA in Writing from California College of the Arts in 2013. His work has appeared in print and on the web in places like Razorcake, SF Weekly, Maximum Rock N' Roll, Travel Portland, and the As You Were punk comix anthology. His first full length graphic novel collaboration with writer Lacy Davis, Ink In Water debuted October of 2017 from New Harbinger Publications.

Kane Lynch

Kane Lynch is a cartoonist and illustrator based in Portland, OR. In addition to writing and drawing graphic novels for all ages, Kane's non-fiction and educational comics and illustrations have appeared on The Nib, Slate, and Psychology Today, as well as in the graphic novel Guantanamo Voices (Abrams Books, 2020). A graduate of the Center for Cartoon Studies, Kane teaches cartooning to young artists at schools, libraries, and comic cons across the country, develops cartooning curriculum, and teaches adults in CCS's summer comics program.

Mathew New

Mathew New is a cartoonist and illustrator currently living in Washington DC. They graduated from The Center for Cartoon Studies in 2014 and their first all-ages graphic novel, Billy Johnson and His Duck are Explorers, was released in 2020 with Capstone Publishing. Besides their love of kids comics, Mathew is also an art model, which influences their non-fiction comics work on body image and issues.

Kate McMillan is a writer and artist based in Los Angeles, CA, currently working as a visual development artist in animation. Kate has worked on environment designs for TV shows including Madagascar: A Little Wild, Abominable and the Invisible City, and Croods: Family Tree. She has a BA in Architecture from Yale University and a background in traditional woodworking. In her work, she loves exploring themes of identity and mental health, and enjoys designing fantastical worlds rooted in logic. When she's not writing or drawing, she can be found building furniture, watching videos of pastry chefs cutting into cakes, and starring into coffee shops on Google maps.
